This auction is for a pair of very nice original pencil signed and titled etchings by A. Simes They are quite old and appear to be vintage 1920 s or 30 s...one is currently mounted in it s original frame/matting and the other is just matted. I cannot make out the locations/titles one says ?? Heath and the other is a harbor/bay/marine scene. The plate image measures 3.5 x 5.5 inches. Winning bidder pays fixed shipping of $15 in the continental USA and 25 USD to Europe/UK. Great portfolio given out at the Open House by The First National Bank of Springfield.
Portfolio of four reproductions of sketches by William H. Crook, Jr. They are of Lincoln s Home, Old State Capitol, Illinois State Capitol, and First National Bank Building.
When they said these heritage sketches were suitable for framing, they weren t kidding. There are no rips, tears or corner folds. The prints themselves measure approximately 12 1/2 x 10 . There are no stains or age marks, and each are dated 1976.

The First National Bank commissioned William H. Crook, Jr. because of his familiarity with and interest in these local scenes.
A native of Springfield, he attended the University of Illinois and studied engineering and graphic design. Since 1971, Mr. Crook has worked as a freelance graphic artist and cartoonist. He recently established his own studio, the Eyeball Sign Company at 327 North Sixth Street.
First National Bank Building. - since its founding in 1863, The First National Bank has occupied three of the four corners of the sqaure in downtown Springfield. The bank moved to its present location in 1921. During the past 55 years, the bank has undergone three major remodeling programs, including the most recent expansion and renovation project completed in March, 1976.
